Herald Makes Strategic Leap with Acquisition of AI-Powered Insurtech Startup Babbix

Los Angeles, CA – July 10 2025 – Herald, the API infrastructure for commercial insurance, has acquired Babbix, an email-native, AI agent purpose-built for brokers. Leading brokerages, MGAs, and wholesalers use Babbix’s pioneering technology to make routine placements effortless and to activate revenue generating transactions like cross-selling. Babbix automates multi-carrier quoting on the distribution side and serves as the submission layer that connects data directly to their underwriters. Historically, insurance software design relied on habit changes for widespread adoption. The combination of Babbix and Herald lets brokers quote from where they are – their inbox. Herald and Babbix will finally offer enterprise brokerages the tools needed to transact faster and grow their books of business. This acquisition enables Herald to move beyond core API connectivity and into AI-powered automation that brokers are actually excited to use.

“We realized the whole was greater than the sum of its parts,” said Kim Mishra, CEO of Babbix. “After months of partnership, we started to see that combining Herald’s technology with AI email agents could rapidly accelerate brokers’ businesses. When the Herald team approached us, it felt obvious that teaming up would turn that vision into reality.”

That future became clear to Herald CEO and co-founder Matt Antoszyk throughout the partnership as well. “We founded Herald with a focus on offering the connectivity needed to simplify quoting and submissions, but increasingly, we needed to provide enterprise brokers with much more than the foundational infrastructure to meet their needs,” said Antoszyk. “The founders of Babbix, Kim Mishra and David Elbaz, are incredible AI engineers who have a history of deploying cutting-edge technology in complex markets. Their technical depth and customer empathy allowed them to build something transformative in an industry that is typically resistant to change. With this acquisition, we’re not just expanding our platform’s capabilities, we’re setting a new standard for how insurance businesses operate.”

Herald’s existing customers are already excited about what the acquisition makes possible. “The combination of Herald and Babbix is a true game changer,” said Kevin Merchant, National Practice Leader for Cyber at Wholesure. “It will make quoting across markets faster and easier than anything we've used before, and I’m very excited for it.”

The Babbix application will now be offered under the Herald banner. The founders will join the Herald team to drive ongoing innovation and lead Herald’s brand-new AI division. This exciting integration begins with the email-based quoting and cross-selling platform, and will be quickly followed by new automations and carrier connections later this year.
